When we put this blog together back in 2011, it was to help people who were credit challenged to obtain services that were normally reserved for people with good to excellent credit.
As the years have gone by, many things have changed. Including the perception that only people with bad credit use prepaid services. Now there ar sooo many QUALITY companies offering prepaid services. On this site we focus on prepaid cell phone service and prepaid debit cards.
Discounted Prepaid Cell Phone Service
We have become resellers of Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint cell phone services. So why go with us instead of going to one of their retail locations? We have plans that are often times cheaper than what they are offering at the retail locations!
You can read about how we saved our sister $35 a month on her Verizon bill! Read about her savings here
Pre-paid Debit Cards and Secured Credit Cards
Six years ago, when we put this blog together. Debit cards were just starting to rise in popularity. Many financial advisers where recommending them as not only a way of staying on a budget. But many of them had “credit builder” functions that would help people with bad credit rebuild their credit.
Fast forward to 2017 and debit cards are still very popular but many of the banks no longer offer the credit building function. They remain a great way to stay on budget though, and the fees associated with them have dropped considerably. You can see our list of prepaid debit cards here:
But how can people with bad credit have a guaranteed way of getting a visa or mastrcard AND build their credit at the same time? Secured credit cards!
Secured Credit Cards
Secured credit cards require that you put down a security deposit and you use that deposit as your credit limit. The cards we recommend have the following benefits:
- Guaranteed approval
- Report to all 3 credit reporting agencies
- Will allow you to make additional deposits so that your credit limit can increase over time
Secured credit cards are one of the best ways to rebuild credit. And we have researched the best ones to help you. You can find our list of secured credit cards here.
I hope you find this site informative, and if you find resources or know of resources we don’t know about, feel free to leave us a comment or send us an email!
